My photography tends to focus on designed systems and the individuals within them
I’m drawn to large structures in part because they expose the system-level thinking of their creators
But I also love emergent structures, whether they be geological or conceptual
My images are my way of asking questions about how the world shapes us, and how we shape it
How have the choices others have made — their designs — structured and constrained our experience of the world?
How do we alter, and lend meaning to, these designs?
Can we truly explore these systems? Can we see our own place within them?
To what extent is creativity a function of system design?
How responsive are our designs to the people who live within them?
What happens when multiple systems interact?
